Following the press coverage of the ongoing search for a missing Texas man by Texas EquuSearch and RP FlightSystems teams, a discussion was help on FOX News Houston regarding privacy concerns with use of drone aircraft in applications of aerial surveillance.
Frank Black, Search Coordinator for Texas EquuSearch, clarified that when deployed the drones are focused on a specific target, the missing individual, and do not engage in any type of aerial surveillance that would be considered an invasion of privacy.
Mike Driver, ACLU Attorney, agreed that the application of drones for search and rescue applications was a different situation, especially when there is a specific target the team is searching for.
